Wiring differences.

For our "Rational Argument" paper I have chosen to look into neurodivergentcies. Specifically, I am writing about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. ADHD is a well-known disorder among young male children. This causes females struggling with this disorder to remain undiagnosed or get diagnosed much later in life.
I have chosen to write about the stigmas around ADHD and how they affect the world. Neurodivergencies are thought to be different wiring of the brain such as Autism. ADHD sufferers are clinically diagnosed with a dopamine deficiency. This causes a lack of regulation.

One model for ADHD is the idea that your tuning into various radio stations at once. Some are quiet and others are much louder than one another. However, all these stations are actively broadcasting. Your brain easily wants to switch back and forth between the channels and can not just remain on one. People without ADHD are able to just turn off the other channels and occasionally receive feedback from one or two of the other channels. ADHD sufferers however constantly hear all the channels simultaneously.

My search into ADHD has caused me to look into a lot of personal experiences from people. I've watched countless Slam poetry videos of the toll it has taken. Countless poems of the child experience navigating this difference. It is common knowledge that ADHD and creativity go hand in hand. art is one of the perfect outlets for hyper-fixations and random thoughts. The more I research the more I realize that even if ADHD is a disorder. It is an insane and intriguing way of functioning in this A-typical society.
